Due to the changing conditions and latest advice from the Department of Education and the Health Department, we have taken the difficult decision to postpone both the Year 12 Ball and the NOVA Camp that were due to occur towards the end of this term.

We have made arrangements with the venues to re-schedule these events when the current situation has settled down.

Payments already made will be held until the event is re-scheduled later in the year. Should cancellation occur, all payments will be refunded at that time, however we are very hopeful that we will be able to reschedule these events later in the year.

Following advice from the Department of Education and the Health Department of WA, the parent information evening that was scheduled for Tuesday 17 March has been postponed. Students will be required to attend a normal school day with the planned early closure also cancelled. School will close at 3pm as normal on this day.

Should you wish to make contact with your child's teachers, email is the fastest and easiest method at the current time.

The school will also be cancelling or postponing events that require large gatherings of people. As such, this week's Harmony/Cultural Day Assembly has been cancelled.

As this situation is changing rapidly it is very important that the school has current contact information for all parents and carers. If your details have changed recently please make sure that the school has been updated.

The Novel Coronavirus situation is continuing to evolve across the world and the Department of Education has plans in place that Lakeland SHS will continue to follow.

The important thing is to ensure that we all apply common sense and only use factual information when responding to this situation.

The Department has sent out an update for all communities (attached) and it is important that you read this and apply the information that it gives.

94% of our 2019 year 12 students that applied for university placements were offered a place for 2020.

Curtin University has the highest number of Lakeland SHS student applications however all four public universities will have a Lakeland student attending in 2020.

Congratulations also to Opal, James E and Jayde who achieved an ATAR score of 90+! Well done guys and good luck with your future studies.

At the sound of the siren at 8.50am on day one (Monday 3 Feb 2020):

Year 7 students report to the Rose Garden at front of school
Year 8 students report to the Canteen undercover stage area
Year 9 students report to the Gym
Year 10 students report to the Library
Year 11 students report to the Theatre
Year 12 students report to the foyer in the Dance Room

The Uniform Shop will be open before school starts on Thursday 30 January 2020, 10am to 6pm and Friday 31 January 2020, 10am to 2pm.

Administration Reception will be open for payments on Thursday 30 January from 8am-6pm and Friday 31 January from 8am-4pm.
