Student Leadership

Our Student Leadership program offers numerous opportunities for students to develop their leadership skills and make a positive impact on our school community.

Join the School Council 

Students can join the School Council and become a Student Councillor, representing their peers and contributing to school decision-making processes. As a Student Councillor, students have the chance to voice their opinions, propose initiatives, and work collaboratively with school staff to enhance the student experience.

Opportunities for Student Councillors 

Student Councillors receive a variety of leadership opportunities, including participating in incursions and excursions that broaden their horizons and provide real-world learning experiences. They also receive specialised training to develop their leadership, communication, and organisational skills. This training equips them with the tools they need to succeed in their roles and beyond.

Front of House Roles 

Every student at Lakeland Senior High School has the opportunity to engage in Front of House roles at school events. These roles allow students to practice their public speaking, hospitality, and event management skills, further enhancing their leadership capabilities.

By participating in our Student Leadership program, students not only contribute to the betterment of our school but also gain valuable skills and experiences that will benefit them throughout their lives. We encourage all students to take advantage of these opportunities and become active leaders in our school community.

Faction Leaders

At Lakeland we have four factions and each faction has two Year 12 leaders who guide the faction activities.

Peer Leaders

Students across the years have opportunities to act as Peer Leaders, whether when hosting Japanese student visitors, primary school students or through leadership of our various clubs and activities. To be a Peer Leader, students must have Good Standing.

Students Making a Difference in the Community

At Lakeland SHS it is important to us that students learn the importance of giving back and playing an active role in the community. Students run fundraising activities, coordinate awareness campaigns and assist with community programs.
