Our Aboriginal Programs are integral to our commitment to embracing and celebrating local culture. Through cultural events, community projects and a culturally responsive curriculum, we ensure that the rich traditions and histories of our First Nations people are honoured and preserved.
These initiatives not only benefit our Aboriginal students but also enrich the entire school community by promoting understanding and respect for diverse cultures. An example of this is our Aboriginal Service Person’s Garden – the only garden in Australia recognising the West Australian Aboriginal service men who fought in WWI.
Yirra Koolang Yorgas Program
Run in conjunction with the Stephen Michael Foundation, the Yorga Program focuses on empowering young Aboriginal women through cultural education, leadership development, and personal growth. By participating in this program, students gain a deeper understanding of their cultural identity and build strong connections with their peers and mentors.
Follow The Dream
Follow The Dream is an academic enrichment program supporting Aboriginal students to achieve their educational goals. This program offers personalised tutoring, mentoring, and career guidance, helping students to excel academically and pursue their aspirations with confidence.
