P & C Association Inc.

About Us

Lakeland Senior High School P & C Association was incorporated in 1990.

The P&C is a volunteer run organisation and the focal point for parent participation in the school.

The P&C is here to support the school and community, and welcomes the participation of all parents, caregivers and citizens of the school community.  We rely on many hands to do what we do. All offers of help make a difference, and we welcome new faces!

What We Do

We focus on building community around our school, improving the place for our kids, and providing services for families.

Here are some of the things our volunteers do for the school community:

  • Operation of the school canteen with a focus on healthy food choices.  Foods are approved by the WACSSO Traffic Light System.  The canteen is open Monday to Friday.
  • Operation of the uniform shop which is next to the Canteen and open Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 8:00-9:00am.  Other times may be arranged by appointment.

We do not fundraise.  All income is derived from P&C Levies, Canteen and Uniform Shop sales, Grants and the Scouts WA Recycling “Containers for Change.”

Why Join In

Helping out at school is a great way to get involved in your child’s education as well as get to know the staff, other parents and carers. We welcome new members throughout the year.  It only costs $1.00 for membership, and you can choose to just come along to meetings to keep up-to-date, or volunteer your time at the canteen.

Some ways to help include:

  • Come to P&C meetings - usually no longer than one hour
  • Help for a few hours in the canteen
  • Share your ideas for improving what we do

P&C Meetings are friendly, informal and give everyone an opportunity to discuss issues, news and events that affect our children at school. Not only it's important to have input into the decisions that influence the students, but it’s also a great way to gain better understanding of the curriculum, policies, procedures and funding, as well as meeting other parents.

Meetings are usually held on the fifth Monday of each term in the school Conference Room.
